The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels soft-baked bars due to a choking hazard that has blocked the airways of several toddlers.
The agency reported that the product forms a dry, sticky mass when chewed. This texture can defeat standard first aid techniques, including back blows and the Heimlich maneuver. Some incidents required emergency response intervention and hospital observation.
The company, led by CEO John Foraker, confirmed it had received three reports of potential choking hazards. The recall covers every flavor, quantity, variety, lot code, and expiration date of the Tractor Wheels line.
Foraker stated the company is reformulating the bars to meet its highest standards. He emphasized the brand's mission to drive systemic improvement in childhood nutrition by doing what is right for customers.
The affected products include the Apple, Sweet Potato, & Spinach variety; the Strawberry, Pumpkin, & Beet variety; and the Banana, Pumpkin & Cauliflower variety. These items are sold at major retailers such as Costco, Target, and Walmart, as well as on Amazon.com.
Customers should not open or eat the bars. They can return the items to the point of purchase for a full refund or contact the company directly. No other Once Upon a Farm products are included in the recall.
