The World Series is down to its final three games after the Tampa Bay Rays stopped the Milwaukee Brewers' winning streak. Tampa Bay won the fourth game on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, with a 4-3 score in 12 innings.
The victory ended an eight-game Brewers winning run and prevented a series sweep. The Rays had lost the first two games in Milwaukee and the third game at home. This win puts the series at 1-3 in Milwaukee's favor.
The fifth game is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time at Tropicana Field. Jacob Misiorowski, the favorite for the National League Cy Young Award, is slated to start for the Brewers.
Tampa Bay is only the fifth of 26 teams to win the fourth game after falling behind 3-0 in a World Series. The four previous teams that accomplished this feat all lost the fifth game.
Across all best-of-seven post-season series, only one team has ever come back from a 3-0 hole to win the series. The Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series. The Brewers were aiming to become the second team to sweep both the League Championship Series and the World Series.
